One of Emma’s jobs is “Moodle Maintenance”, ie, helping teachers with routine admin and updating. They’re very fond of using Powerpoint to put across information, and on the GCSE Options page of our Moodle several subjects have presentations outlining the advantages of opting for their particular subject. We were really pleased to discover that you are now allowed to use iSpring free on a Virtual Learning Environment like Moodle – whereas before it simply wasn’t permitted. Apparently now according to their website iSpring Free comes as a freeware for personal, educational and non-profit use only, for unlimited period of time free of charge. To use iSpring Free for education, you just need to obtain a free license filling a short form at http://www.ispringsolutions.com/academic_is_free_license_request.html Which is great news as now,not only can Emma get the Powerpoints to display in a neater way -but those pupils who don’t have Powerpoint can still view the content!
