Use  free software to create  learning games for your pupils, whiteboard, computer room  and VLE!

Ever struggled to come up with a starter that will get the whole class in the mood for learning?  Ever wondered how to make vocabulary homework more exciting? Stuck with a boring VLE?

This one day course, run by a languages teacher of 25years’ experience, will give you hands on practice using a variety of free games making programs that will encourage and motivate students of all ability levels.

Course delegates will:

  • generate a series of multimedia vocabulary games using freely downloadable packages
  • set up matching exercises,cloze tests and crosswords suitable for whiteboards and VLEs
  • Create a variety of witty, pupil-friendly multiple choice Flash games
  • explore a wide range of websites offering online games creation

All delegates will leave with USB pen containing the software used during the course,a log in to a Moodle VLE offering 12 months’ free support and the opportunity to share resources generated in an online community.

A secondary languages  teacher for over 25 years, Mary has successfully improved the language skills of KS2/3 and 4 pupils through judicious use of games. One of only  two officially accredited UK trainers in the free Hotpotatoes activity creation software we will be using, Mary is  also a Microsoft Office Specialist trainer and is  globally recognized for her expertise in the use of the Moodle VLE with younger children. An added bonus to the course is that Mary, the author of  Moodle for Teaching 7-14 Year olds ,will  show you how to incorporate your games into your school VLE or website for children to play at home.
